Why you need a blessing right now!
With all the uncertainty and scary news sweeping the world right now about the Coronavirus, it seems like what is more contagious right now is anxiety, stress, and fear (which ironically poses a bigger health threat).
I have found that when I am gripped by anxiety, stress, and fear if I can just fill my mind with praise music, it silences all the negative voices, so I can be filled with joy, hope, and peace.
Recently, I had the opportunity, to witness firsthand, the birth of a new song that is now sweeping the world faster than the Coronavirus. It is definitely needed for such a time as this. It’s truly a gift from God himself!!!
We could all use this type of blessing right now.
Being blessed is more than earthly riches, successful careers, beautiful families and good health. It is a state of wellbeing that comes from the peace of God, which transcends all understanding.
I love how the ESV version of Philippians 4:4-9 says:
“Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me–practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”
God is the source of hope, peace and joy and he wants to bless us with these amazing gifts.
This song is inspired by a passage in Numbers 6:24-26. You may have heard it before at the closing of church services. It is known as the high priestly blessing.
You don’t need a priest to give you this blessing. You can claim it right now. Watch the Youtube video of this song, add it to your playlist, and read the words below. You can even save it and pray this prayer over your children.
In a little over a week this song is being shared around the world and is blessing so many people. I hope it blesses you as much it has blessed me and our family and many of our friends.
So instead of being immobilized with anxiety and fear over what is going on in the world right now, or whatever it is you are personally struggling with right now, remind yourself of God’s words and claim the blessing He has for you.
